I received my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at East Tennessee State University in 1992, am licensed as a Senior Psychological Examiner, and have the designation as a Health Service Provider.
Out of graduate school, I worked in community mental health (Watauga Mental Health Services then Frontier Health Incorporated) where I experienced many opportunities. I served at Woodridge Psychiatric Hospital, Quillen Rehabilitation Hospital (manager of Psychological services), 7 area school systems, as well as conducting many other psychological assessments for the Assessment office of WMHS/FHI.
After I had my third child in 2001, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom and was able to do that for over 6 years. When my youngest went to first grade, I started back to work, conducting disability evaluations. I was grateful for that experience, after having been home for years, but discovered my desire was for private practice which I have now been able to do for 15 years.
I was born in Peoria, IL and was mercilessly called a "Yankee" when my family moved to Johnson City in 1979. I've been a cheerleader, the focus of bullying, and the SHHS band drum major. My brother is a clinical pharmacist and I secretly suspect genetic mutation because just walking past the ETSU Science building could cause my GPA to drop. I have no trouble being silent in crowds for long periods of time, much to the dismay of extroverts and about every bad character trait I have surges to the surface when I'm driving.
